Galaxy Emergency Declaration No Longer Needed

Was very anxious to read that the Andromeda Galaxy was going to slam into our wonderful Milky Way in only 3.9 billion years. Do we need to build an inter galactic barrier? Latest update shows that Andromeda’s path is not direct and will only deliver a sideways strike in 4.5 billion years. What a relief. We can now focus on colonization of Pluto. To bad the press both left, right and even center, will not spend days or weeks covering this vital occurrence. There is exciting news coming from Kenya. For the first time in 100 years a black leopard has been confirmed in Africa. This is good but leopards have lost 70% of their habitat.

Super Wolf Blood Moon and Saturn’s Vanishing Rings

Saturn’s rings are almost new. And Texas Tech has lost two games in a row. There to so much to comprehend. Sadly a large number of fruit bats have died because of of extreme heat in Australia. Last night I saw the Super wolf blood moon. Could this be a portent of coming good fortune? Will the fruit bats thrive as the temperature cools in Australia? Are Federal workers going to get paid? Could Texas Tech win again? Will Brexit be settled? Can we save Saturn’s Rings?

Rain and Jackals

It is raining and there are a lot of Golden Jackals in Europe, They are spreading. And George, the last of his species, died in Hawaii. He was 15 and probably not aware he was the last. At least he was not eaten by a jackal nor a wolf snail. A 30 acre mushroom in Michigan is 2,500 year old has mutated little over the years. Finally our president has stated that he is not a Russian agent.

Sunshine Before the Storms

Tomorrow will bring much needed rain. And the Hubble telescope is aging. Hope it doesn’t need a complete knee replacement. So much has been discovered and knowledge of our universe has expanded. As I sit here a car alarm is sounding and the neighborhood husky is making that husky sound. We have seen something of a cosmic signal. Could it be a voice from distant life? Have a great Sunday and we have ba tranquil time for a change.

Rainy Season?

I learn much while watching TV and stretching knee. There are many medications that seem to have terrible side effects. Sometimes I forget what they treat. You know it’s time to reflect when you hear, Don’t use if you are pregnant or your mother has ever been pregnant. Am now listening to news about government shut down, the wall, and the teachers strike. But the great news is a week of rain. Maybe we wil move out of severe drought status. And my college is now 7th or 8th in basketball.

My home town

As I turn 80 and have a new knee my thoughts have returned to my home town. It is still about the same size. When my mother played basketball for the high school in the early 20’s it was the same size. Where some towns have become over a million in population my home town has hardly ever gone over 1000. Such consistent behavior somehow is calming in these wildly changing times. One great part of my school was the indoor plumbing and we had a swing set, a merry go round, and even a windmill to climb. I was afraid to climb the windmill. Tatum is a long way from Ultima Thule.

Last Blog for 2018

Past Pluto way way out there a most distant object will be viewed. I do not think we should explore the possibility of colonizing this object yet. What if we find life on this distant object? I am lying down doing a stretch that is not enjoyable. In fact it’s uncomfortable. Am watching the news which is about like this stretch. I wish you the best New Years. It is already New Years in Australia.

The end of 2018

Was delighted to learn that a new member of our solar system has been discovered. It is 3 times further than Pluto and is known as Farout. Could this be another object of colonization. The journey would be long and expensive. Could the announcement of such a project help the stock markets? What great events will occur in the next year? Will our budget be balanced? Perhaps China will build our border wall. An asteroid will probably not destroy the planet.

We can be sure it will a bizarre time. Who would have thought that my 80th year would be at such a strange time in our history. At least I will be armed with a new knee. Or should I say legged with a new knee? Did my turning 80 some how interact with the gravitational field of Farout causing all of the events going back to 2016? Have a most wonderful New Year.

Voyager Leaves the solar system

Actually it’s Voyager 2 because Voyager 1 left several years ago. In addition to that we were given the sound of Martian wind by the InSight probe. On this planet at any one time there are about 23 billion chickens. They.descended from the red jungle fowl and were domesticated about 8,000 years ago . That means the Neanderthals probably did not eat them at El Pollo Loco. Finally learned that red hair is controlled by 8 genes rather than 1. On that note I must return to walking and exercise.

Straight Knee

Am seeing how long I can keep knee straight as part of post surgery therapy. So I am writing this trying to keep mind off discomfort. I get to stop if there is real pain. And have just read that an asteroid we are studying has crystal ice. If it has enough water could we colonize it. It is supposed to be the size of the Ike of Wright. Have no ideal of how big that really is. Will stop to see how much time has passed
